Endowment Funds :: Miscellaneous Fund-Raising

SPECIAL PURPOSE FUNDS

The following funds are either included as part of the Sinai Temple operating budget and/or contributed for the purpose designated by the fund title. Donations to these funds do not earn interest, and therefore, the entire donation can be used to further the fund's objectives.

If you wish to donate to one of the following funds, make your check payable to Sinai Temple. On the memo line of your check, write Donation: and the name of the fund. Example: Donation: Condolence Fund.

  • Cemetary Fund
    Purpose: for indigent burials and to repair historic monuments

  • Condolence Fund
    Purpose: to support the efforts of the Condolence Committee

  • Alpiner Stern Flower Fund (Flower Fund)
    Purpose: to provide the flowers that decorate the sanctuary altar on Friday evenings and holidays

    Contributions to the Flower Fund are often made in memory of a loved one or in honor of a special occasion or person. At the conclusion of Shabbat, the flowers are taken to members who are ill or to families for appropriate occasions.

  • Friends of Sinai Temple Religious School
    Purpose: to help the Religious School meet its increasing financial commitments

    Since tuition covers only a portion of total expenses of the two programs, contributions to this fund provide all members of the congregation, whether or not they are parents of children in the school, with an opportunity to support directly the Temple's religious education program, and to share in the commitment to sound religious instruction.

    Minimum contribution to the fund is $25. To become a friend, make your check payable to "Sinai Temple FRIENDS."
